Frequently Asked Questions
How do IVs work?
Intravenous therapy enables your body to rapidly absorb 100% of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and hydration you receive. Think of it as a direct infusion for your cells. Instead of going through the long process of being absorbed through your GI (gastrointestinal) tract, an IV hydrates your body quickly. Right away, you'll feel more energized, healthier, and, well, better!
What happens during an IV session?
A trained medical professional will evaluate your vitals, including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and medical history. Our Medical Director will determine if you are suitable for treatment, after which the trained medical professional will position your IV bag and begin the infusion via a soft flexible catheter inserted into your arm or hand.
Are there any medical conditions that would prevent me form getting an IV?
While this is not an inclusive list of all conditions that might prevent you from receiving IV Hydration, a few include Impaired Renal system, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Basically any condition that prevents your body from absorbing fluids properly. These conditions are generally serious in nature and you would most likely know about them before coming to see us for an IV.
How long does it take to get an IV?
Depending on your body, it will take between 30 minutes and an hour.
How often can I get an IV?
Frequency is different for everyone because everyone has unique needs. Some people function best with weekly treatments, while others may feel fantastic with one session a month. Some factors to take into consideration are: your level of recent physical activity, nutrition habits, quality of sleep, and stress levels.
Who will be administering my IV?
Our IV Specialists are registered nurses, and all policies and procedures are created and overseen by our medical director. We hire RNs with extensive IV experience to ensure the best experience possible.
